In a landmark achievement, Ashok Leyland has clinched a monumental order of 2,104 fully assembled buses from the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). The massive contract, valued at approximately ₹981.45 crores, involves the delivery of 2,104 Viking passenger buses, which will be produced at Ashok Leyland’s state-of-the-art bus body plants. These facilities are renowned for their advanced technology and adherence to the highest standards of quality.
The Viking buses ordered by MSRTC are designed to meet the latest Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) standards and feature cutting-edge specifications including AIS 153 compliant bodies, iGEN6 BS VI OBD II technology with a robust 197 HP H-Series Engine, and Rear Air Suspension. This significant order is scheduled for delivery between August 2024 and August 2025, further solidifying Ashok Leyland’s reputation as a pioneer in the transport vehicles sector.
