    The Types

The different types of e-commerce are the following:

    • Business to Consumer (B2C)

    • Consumer to Business (C2B)

    • Consumer to Administration (C2A)

    Business-to-Business (B2B)

A  type of B2B business generally conducts the trade between two or more businesses/companies. The cycle of such trade is generally interconnected between wholesalers and producers who are dealing with retailers.

    Business-to-Consumer (B2C)

Business-to-Consumer is a type of business in which a retailer can sell their goods and services to the customer through an online medium. The consumer can have a detailed look at their products before placing an order. After the placement of such orders by the customer, the company/agent receiving the order will then deliver the order to the consumer in a given timeline. Some of the businesses operating in this channel include well-known players like Amazon, Flipkart, eBay, etc.

    Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C)

In this type of business, one consumer can sell their used product to another consumer through an online medium. And the transaction is made through the third party in the deal such as Olax, quicker, eBay, etc.

eBay is one of the few companies which deal in both types of e-commerce business,   consumer-to-consumer (C2C) and business-to-consumer (B2C) online marketplaces where eBay seller help their customers by providing both used and unused products for their convenience.

    Consumer-to-Business (C2B)

A C2B type of business is the opposite of a B2C type. In the C2B model, users get a chance to sell their products to different businesses. Whereas in B2C model, it is the business that gives its products to consumers. The model is widely used in crowdsourcing-based plans, which frequently involve the selling of royalty-free images, logo creation, design components, media and so forth.

    Business-to-Administration (B2A)

B2A is a type of business where dealing takes place between a company to public administration. Government agencies (administration) use central websites to trade and exchange information with various business organizations, different services are included in B2A for example fiscal measures, social security, legal documents, and other government-related operations.

    Business-to-administration also known as  Business-to-government (B2G).

    Consumer-to-Administration (C2A)

Consumer-to-Administration or C2A e-commerce is a type of business that bound electronic transactions online between consumers and the public administration. The Consumer to Administration e-commerce  solves consumers’ queries and ask for information regarding public sectors from their local governments/authorities directly. It establishes communication between the consumers and the government in a seamless way.
